Kia . My antifreeze level is low, what could this be?

My antifreeze level is low, what could this be? I drive a 2001 ford focus, and the antifreeze level seems to be going low...I had someone add antifreeze to it when it wasn't cool, so I'm assuming this may be why? They didn't want to wait until it cooled down..but anyways...It's not leaking antifreeze that is noticable, I checked my oil it's not milky or anything like that...It doesn't sound like it's burning antifreeze, and it's not overheating or anything...my exhaust doesn't have white smoke coming out of it..My engine oil is black, I'm not sure what this means I do need an oil change but i'm not due to it...it's not idling really rough...I'm not sure what it could be.. When I did check my antifreeze I noticed a little bit of bubbles on the top of the over flow, which is where I filled it up at...and it's below the minimum line now...I don't know what to do about this! car insurance.

Kia . Would this vehicle be best for me?

Would this vehicle be best for me? Come this Winter, I'll be 16 and getting my license in February. My parents have already got me saving for (hopefully) a new vehicle. Now I have a lot of time to think what type of vehicle I want, but by the time it comes Winter, I want to be able to go into it with an idea of what I want and enough money. I've been considering a 2011 Ford Ranger. I personally have always wanted a truck, mainly because my dad has loved trucks for so long. I'm pretty small, so I'm not sure how awkward I'd look in it? I have never driven a truck before either, so could you help me with how difficult it might be? Plus, I live around the Detroit, Michigan area, so we get pretty bad winters. Considering the weather in this area, I also really think a truck would be a good fit for me. Do you have any other recommendations for me to look at? I'm trying to keep it relatively cheap, somewhere around how much a Ranger would cost, I know I could handle that, and please try to keep them limited to Ford. car insurance.

Kia . How to Replace Rear Brake Pads & Rotors

It goes without saying that the brakes on your car are among its most important components, ensuring that vehicle can be stopped safely in everyday driving as well as in emergencies. If your rear brakes are squeaking or grinding, they probably need to be replaced. This is a job that can be done by a shop for several hundred dollars. It can also be done by the owner with the right tools and approach.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Floor jack
Jack stands
Socket set and ratchet
Pliers
Screwdriver
Brake cleaner
Rags
Syringe
Brake fluid
Brake pads
Rotors

Step by Step :
1
Park the vehicle on a flat level surface. Place a wheel chock or a block of wood in front of the front wheels for added safety. Loosen the lug bolts that fasten the rear wheels to the suspension.
2
Lift the rear of the vehicle with a floor jack according to the manufacturer's recommended procedure. Lower the vehicle onto jack stands placed under either side of the rear of the car. Finish removing the wheels and set them aside.
3
Spray brake cleaner on the brake components, including the rotor, caliper and brake line. Wipe everything down with a clean, dry rag.
4
Locate the caliper retaining bolts. These will be located on the side of the caliper that faces the wheel well, and will fasten the caliper to the suspension or to the caliper carrier, depending on the vehicle. Loosen and remove the caliper bolts with a socket and a ratchet. There may a cap on the end of the bolt that needs to be pried off with a screwdriver.
5
Remove the caliper spring clip on the outside of the caliper with a pair of pliers. Slide the caliper off the rotor. Support the caliper with a piece of wire tied to a nearby suspension piece so that there is no weight on the soft brake line that is attached to the caliper.
6
Remove the brake pads from the caliper. They may also be stuck to the rotor, so simply pull them off. They also may be mounted to the caliper carrier bracket if the vehicle uses one. Disconnect any wires that go to the pads for the pad wear sensors.
7
Remove the caliper carrier bracket if the vehicle has one. This will be bolted to the vehicle with two bolts that face the wheel well. Set the bracket aside.
8
Remove the set screw that holds the brake rotor to the hub. The type of fastener will vary depending on the model, and may be a flat-head screw, a Phillips screw or an Allen screw. Some vehicles do not use a set screw to hold the rotor in place. Pull the rotor off the hub.
9
Clean the area on the hub where the rotor mounts with brake cleaner. Slide the new rotor into place. Reinstall the set screw and tighten it if the vehicle uses one. Reinstall the caliper bracket.

Step by Step :
10
Open the lid for the brake fluid reservoir, located in the engine bay. Remove a small amount of the brake fluid with a syringe so that the fluid does not overflow when the caliper piston is compressed to make room for the new pads.

Step by Step :
11
Compress the caliper piston by placing one pad of a C-clamp on the piston and the other pad on the outside of the caliper and tightening the caliper. Some vehicles (Audis and VWs, for example) require a special tool that is placed on the caliper piston and that pushes and turns the piston simultaneously.

Step by Step :
12
Install the new brake pads. Plug in any wires for the brake pad wear sensor. Reinstall the caliper and pads by sliding them over the rotor. Install and tighten the bolts that hold the caliper in place. Reinstall the caliper spring clip with a pair of pliers.

Step by Step :
13
Fill the brake fluid reservoir with fresh brake fluid. Pump the brake pedal until it is firm. Reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle back to the ground.

Kia . How to Replace Rear Disk Pads on a Ford Focus

Rear disk pads on your Ford Focus wear at a much different rate than those on the front. In fact, they wear out much more rapidly than those on the front. If you don't change them in a timely fashion, worn disk pads will ultimately cause damage to your rotor, and are considerably dangerous to drive with. Changing rear disk pads is not as difficult as it may first seem, and in fact, if you know how to change a tire then you're halfway there.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Caliper piston tool
Automobile jack
Jack stand
Wheel chocks
Metric socket set
Metric wrench set

Step by Step :
1
Park the car on a level surface and place the wheel chocks in front of the front wheels.
2
Break loose the lugs nuts on the side that you will be working on first using the lug wrench, but do not take them off.
3
Jack up the car using the automobile jack and remove the wheel. Place a jack stand under the frame of the car near the jacking point and raise it as close to the frame as you can.
4
Detach the parking brake cable from the caliper by releasing the clip.
5
Pull the caliper away from the rotor by removing the bolts using the proper size socket and ratchet. The bolts are actually on the back side of the caliper.
6
Remove the old disk pads by sliding them out of their notches.
7
Push the caliper piston back into the caliper using the caliper piston tool. The fluid in the lines will go back into the master cylinder.
8
Place the new disk pads into the notches in the same manner that the old ones were in place.
9
Place the caliper assembly back onto the rotor and move so that the bolt holes line up. If the caliper is difficult to put back on, then you must push the piston in more. Never hammer it back into place.

Step by Step :
10
Install the bottom caliper bolt loosely and then install the top bolt. Tighten both bolts down snugly using the proper size socket and the ratchet.

Step by Step :
11
Re-attach the parking brake cable to the caliper by clipping it into place.

Step by Step :
12
Remove the jack stand and re-attach the wheel to the car.

Step by Step :
13
Lower the car back to the ground and tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern using the lug wrench to ensure that they are all tight.

Step by Step :
14
Repeat the entire process for the other rear wheel.
Tips & Warnings
When cleaning brake parts you should never use sand paper or a wire brush. A wet cloth and brake cleaner is all that you should use.

If you avoid disconnecting the brake lines, then you may not have to bleed the brakes when you are done.

Always exercise care when handling brake parts. Most linings on brake shoes and pads contain asbestos fibers and can be hazardous to your health. You should wear a surgical mask when handling used brake parts to avoid inhaling the dust.

do-it-yourself car washes and use its facilities. The steamy hoses keep both you and your car warm enough to wash away the mud and salt in the winter and can do an even better job than you could do at home, especially if your water pressure is low. Most people think that there's nothing special to know about washing a car, but this isn't the case. Doing the job efficiently saves you time and effort and the car comes out looking great. If you work in a haphazard way, the task takes much longer, and you run the risk of scratching the finish, streaking the surface, and leaving the body vulnerable to rust. If your vehicle was built after the mid-1980s, it probably has a clear Car Insurance 2010 volvo v70 32r designwagon4d 499030

.Chapter 23: Keeping Your Car Clean and Beautiful f»71 If you've never washed the vehicle with a hose before, spray lightly around the edges of the windows and the rear deck lid for a short time and then check to see if the weather-stripping leaks. If it does, consult the instructions in Chapter 24 for patching or replacing weather-stripping, and try to avoid spraying these areas until you remedy the problem. Conserve water. Don't let the hose run while you work. Use it only to wet and rinse the car, and shut it off when you don't need it. Car Wash Association studies have found that people often use as much as 140 gallons for a single car wash, which isn't surprising when you consider that a &inch hose can deliver 14 gallons of water per minute. Use just enough water pressure to wet the exterior efficiently. Blasts at extremely high pressure may loosen and chip paint and parts. Use a sponge, soft rag (old terrycloth towels or T-shirts are wonderful), or cotton wash mitt. To avoid cobwebby scratches, follow the contours of the surface rather than going in circles. Rinse the rag often to get rid of grease and dust particles. Be thorough but gentle. Vigorous scrubbing can scratch and remove the paint. Before you wash the car body, hose it down to get rid of the surface dust, and then clean and polish such exterior surfaces as vinyl hardtops, convertible tops, glass windows and sunroofs, chrome bumpers and trim, side mirrors, wheel covers, whitewalls, and tires. Then, when you wash and rinse the car itself, you'll be sure to get off the last residue of all the substances you used for those jobs. Later sections of this chapter explain how to clean and restore some of those special surfaces. Use gentle cleansers unless you intend to rewax your car. Your car's sensitive skin requires gentle cleansers just as your own body does. Don't use laundry or dish soap or detergent; use a commercial car-washing product instead. Soap and detergent remove the wax and other protective finishes from the surface. Use biodegradable washing and cleaning products to minimize environmental pollution. Unlike the wastewater that is decontaminated and/or recycled by commercial car washes, the dirty, soapy water that you use travels down the sewers and into the waterways and oceans. If your car is really filthy and oily, it may be better to take it to a car wash. Always wash a car body from the top down so that soap scum and sludge don't muck up freshly washed areas. Remember to get to all the corners where dirt can collect and rust can form: behind the wheels, inside the fenders, and behind the bumpers.

i> Always read and follow the directions on the package. Some products can damage your skin or your cars surface if left on too long or if applied and removed improperly. Wash one section of the car at a time: Hose it down, soap it up, and rinse it off. When you've finished the entire vehicle, hose it all down again to get off every last bit of soap. Use a medium stream of water that flows off in sheets and makes drying the car easier. Make sure that no water collects in the tiny rust-prone spaces around the trim and behind the bumpers. Don't scratch at hard-to-remove dirt. Soak it loose by placing a wet rag on it. If your vehicle is befouled with tar or dead bugs, commercial solvents can get rid of them safely. Be sure to remove these intense cleansers thoroughly and wash the surface with soap and water immediately afterward. Towel-dry the car immediately with terry towels, diapers, or a synthetic chamois to get rid of water spotting that can mar the car's surface. Chamois are good for this purpose and can be washed, rinsed, and used for years. But they're more expensive, and I find that old, dry terry towels work pretty well, too. Besides, what else can you do with towels that have not only become too faded for the bathroom but are too torn even for the beach? Clear-coat finishes Most modern vehicles are painted in a two-step process that produces a clear
